Microsoft Office Templates can be sourced from a range of internet based resources, including template websites, and the main Office Template site run by Microsoft. OpenOffice Templates are also available for free from the OpenOffice Template Gallery. Google Drive, with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides, have some templates available online.
To find a template for Office search for a suitable site and browse through the templates that are on offer. They may be organised in categories, such as reports or newsletters, or by colour scheme or template type.
The office template, for Word, Excel, Powerpoint or will have a different file extension from the standard document. Word, for instance, uses .docx for the standard Word document and .dotx for the Word Template file.
Save the template to a suitable place on your hard drive, and rename it to something you will remember if it needs it.
The Office program you use will then be able to open the Template file and edit the contents, then saving it to a separate document.
